P2P: Strategic Planning
This course provides practitioners with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to prepare for strategic planning within their agencies. Through a combination of webinars and 1:1 assistance, participants will be introduced to a seven-phase framework to guide strategic planning efforts. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a plan for conducting strategic planning in their agencies. The course is designed for both teams with strategic planning experience and those with no experience. This content is aligned with PHAB Standard 5.3: Develop and implement a health department organizational strategic plan and Reaccreditation Measure 5.3: The health department is guided by a department strategic plan that is revised as the department priorities are achieved or adjusted.
Teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for registration is April 15, 2019. Participation will be limited to 12 teams. All agencies will be notified of their status within a week of responding to the registration survey.

Writing a Workforce Development Plan for Your Public Health Agency
This hands-on support opportunity will assist public health agency-based teams with writing a Workforce Development (WFD) Plan for their organization. Through a combination of webinars, online learning modules, in-person workshop, and 1:1 assistance, participants will be guided through the process of writing a WFD Plan using a template. The Center for Public Health Practice
(CPHP) will conduct a workforce assessment (optional) for participating agencies using questions based on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (2014) (up to 70 survey items). From this assessment, a report will be produced and provided for agency use (see details below). Work will be required of teams in between the arranged sessions. At the conclusion of this series, participating agencies will have a final draft WFD Plan and will have identified remaining steps needed to complete it.
Teams will be accepted on a first-come-first served basis. The deadline for registration is March 13, 2019. Participation will be limited to 12 teams. All agencies will be notified of their status within a week of responding to the registration survey.

Webinar: Successfully Telling PHAB Your Health Department’s Performance Management Story
- Learn about tools, techniques, and methods used by three local health departments to successfully tell their performance management stories and achieve accreditation under PHAB Standards and Measures, Version 1.5;
- Discover which Standard 9.1 measures posed the greatest challenges to these health departments; and
- Gain insights into how to best prepare their performance management documentation.
Target Audience: Health Department accreditation coordinators, performance improvement managers, leadership, and staff serving on an agency performance management committee or team
Performance Management Systems for Public Health Agencies
This two-day interactive workshop uses a combination of lectures followed by hands-on application and mentored work time for agency-based teams to begin drafting a performance management system for their agency. Content aligns with PHAB accreditation requirements.
Limited space is available. Agencies will be registered on a first-come-first-served basis. Agencies that have not attended a previous Performance Management Systems for Public Health Agencies workshop will receive priority. All agency team members must be able to attend both full days of the workshop and you will be asked to verify this during the registration process. Registration is open until August 10, 2018. Through a combination of webinars, virtual “office hours,” in-person workshop, and 1:1 assistance, participants will be guided through the process of writing a QI Plan using a template. Work will be required of teams in between the arranged sessions. At the conclusion of this series, participating agencies will have a final draft QI Plan and will have identified remaining steps needed to finalize the plan.
