Volunteer Opportunities with SCARF

The Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) is in search of volunteers to assist in their efforts to raise public awareness of the needs of the homeless pets of the county. Through their efforts these homeless pets receive the needed vet care, vaccinations, and when possible they are spade and neutered before adoption. They have several events coming up that are in need of volunteers:

  • May 18th at 8 AM (SCARF’s Furry 5K at Tawawa Park)
    • Looking for help setting up, passing out water to runners, helping with registration at the event, and serving as the mascot, etc.
    • All volunteers that help with this event will receive a t-shirt
  • June 8th from 9-11 AM (Cans for Canine Collection events at the Animal Shelter)
    • Assisting with donation drop offs
  • June 8th (Botkins Parade)
    • Looking for dog walkers, and need someone to wear their SCARFIE mascot costume
  • June 15th (Anna Parade)
    • Looking for dog walkers, and need someone to wear their SCARFIE mascot costume
  • June 29th (Fort Loramie Parade)
    • Looking for dog walkers, and need someone to wear their SCARFIE mascot costume
  • August 17th, October 12th, and December 14th (Cans for Canine Collection events at the Animal Shelter)
    • Assisting with donation drop offs
