Dear Shelby County Supporters,
The Shelby County Jr. Fair Improvement Committee would like to thank all of you for your past and continuing contributions to our organization. With your past donations, we were able to help put on this year’s 2020 Shelby County Junior Fair.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we are informing you that we are moving forward with this year’s Reverse Raffle Event with some modifications. We will be live-streaming the raffle for all to view, as we will NOT be able to hold the event in person on the fairgrounds as we have in the past. A link will be sent out to all participants. Like in years past, two delicious dinners will be available per each ticket sold. These meals will be ready for pickup on the fair ground in box lunch form between 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.The live-streaming will start at 7:00 p.m. Further details will be communicated if changes are necessary.
This year’s raffle will take place on September 12, 2020, so mark your calendar now! Tickets will be the same price of $100 each and will include the 2 carry out meals.

What has the Shelby County Junior Fair Improvement Committee used the funds for?
Thanks to your support the committee has been able to raise over $120,000 in the past four years for Junior Fair Improvement projects. In 2018, the committee decided to start setting aside half of the money raised at the event for a future cattle complex building project.Currently, we have $34,629 earmarked for this project.
Below are the improvements made by year:
2016: Constructed new 40 x 64 x 13 rabbit/chicken building & provided ventilation upgrades to current livestock arena.
2017: Upgrades to the hog show arena roof and made purchases for non-livestock projects such as: a new PA system, camera, security camera for the junior fair booth building, modeling rack, mirrors, and woodworking tools.
2018: Improvements to the horse barn and downspout drainage.
2019: $10,000 donation to help hold the 2020 Junior Fair.
2020: To be determined. Ideas are: Add garage doors on the hog barn, upgrade ventilation
