2020 A.B. Graham Memorial Center Scholarship

What is the A.B. Graham Center?

The A.B. Graham Memorial Center was built in 1917 as a school building. The building sat on the same site where A.B. Graham began his career in education.

The present building served the surrounding rural community as a school apart of the Miami East School District until its closure in June 1990. Recognizing the historic significance of the building, concerned citizens rallied to save it. They developed the non-profit organization called, The A.B. Graham Memorial Center.

The mission of the Center is to provide the surrounding rural communities of Miami and Champaign Counties a place to meet, socialize and conduct business while at the same time recognizing the significant work of A.B. Graham, the founder of 4-H Clubs of America.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Resident of Champaign, Miami or Shelby County
  • Active participation in 4-H Program
  • 2020 Graduating Senior
  • Continuing education through college or vocational schooling
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

2020 Ginn Scholarship

Vera Ginn established the Mr. & Mrs. C.H. Ginn Agricultural Scholarship in recognition of the lifetime contribution that her parents made to the agricultural community of Shelby County. Mr. & Mr. C.H. Ginn were farmers and agricultural enthusiasts, and they operated a well-known feed grain and agriculture supply business in Sidney for many years.

ELIGIBILITY PRE-REQUISTES

  • Possess a definite goal of becoming established in farming or other agricultural related career.
  • Planning to enter a post-secondary educational institution of higher learning in the fall of the year in which application is made.
  • Attending or have graduated from a Shelby County school: Anna, Botkins, Fairlawn, Fort Loramie, Hardin-Houston, Jackson Center, Lehman, Russia, Sidney or Sidney Christian.
  • Completed and submitted the Mr. & Mrs. C.H. Ginn Agricultural Scholarship by February 28, 2020.

2020 Shelby County Farm Bureau

The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation has more than $70,000 in scholarships available to Ohio students from rural, suburban and urban communities who are pursuing degrees connected in some way to agriculture.

Through 10 programs, approximately 50 scholarships will be awarded. The deadline to apply online at ofbf.org/foundation is Feb. 28 and all applications require letters of recommendation, an essay, school transcripts and photos.

4.    2020 SHELBY CATTLEMEN’S ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Qualifications:

  • Must be attending college in the fall of 2020.
  • All applicants must complete the attached application, essay, and participate in a personal interview.
  • Interviews may be held in late April, 2020 at the Shelby County Ag Center (820 Fair Road Sidney, Ohio 45365)
  • Deadline is April 1st.

Amount:

  • One $500.00 scholarship will be payable to the student after the presentation of their first quarter/semester grades is made to the Shelby County Cattlemen’s Association.
  • Student must maintain a 2.0 GPA for the quarter/semester.
