There are 3 ways US Students can travel to Indonesia as young scholars.

  1. Ohio State University and the University of Illinois are offering Education or Study Abroad courses in Indonesia, usually in summer for about 3 weeks. Google ‘OSU Education Abroad’ or ‘UIUC Study Abroad’ to see current offers.
  2. The United States Secretary of State has opportunities for recent college graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree to teach in rural contexts and receive a stipend of $9,000/year. Graduates with a masters degree or higher and expertise in ESL could consider the English Language Fellows program which pays a professional salary and provides a residency, usually at a university.   3. Periodically Indonesian government and non-governmental organizations advertise opportunities ranging in length from one semester to one year. These experiences often cover travel and accommodation expenses.
