Pre-Professional Resources
Ohio State offers 2 pre-professional programs for students who intend to enter professional schools after graduation — Pre-Health and Pre-Law.
Pre-Health
Pre-Health programs are an option for students interested in health professions such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine. Visit Ohio State’s Pre-Professional Health Programs webpage to learn more.
What is pre-health?
Ohio State does not have one specific “pre-med” major. Pre-health is a designation for those who seek admission to health professional programs, usually upon completion of a Bachelors degree (BA, BS, etc.).
The term pre-health can also refer to students interested in four-year degree programs that lead directly to health careers upon graduation, including nursing, dental hygiene, respiratory therapy, and medical laboratory science.
