Emily Pandis and Yiannis Kellis on the history of shipping in Greece and the BRI
Broadcast on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 8:20am.
Yianni, a Finance major with an interest in shipping, and Emily, an International Relations major interested in transnational relations, join forces yet again to collaborate on a topic that incorporates both their interests and areas of study. They will guide listeners though a historical journey of land and sea trade in Greece through the years, and conclude with the implications of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and how it is already affecting Greece economically and politically.
Emily and Yianni are joined by special guests Mr. Alexis Phylactopoulos, President of CYA, and a Greek ship-owner who has asked to remain anonymous, but has accumulated over sixty years of experience in the industry.
