Medical Center Security

Medical Center Security is a division of OSU’s Department of Public Safety. Medical Center Security operations span a large geographical area, and in addition to the main Medical Center complex; deploy Officers and support technology at University Hospitals East, Outpatient Care East, Outpatient Care Gahanna, Outpatient Care Lewis Center, Polaris, the Ackerman Complex, Martha Morehouse Medical Plaza, and approximately 30 individual outreach facilities throughout the central Ohio area.

Buckeye Alert

Ohio State’s Department of Public Safety uses a variety of methods to communicate with the campus community. The Buckeye Alert System is a multi-modal, emergency notification system that includes nearly two dozen communication methods. The Buckeye Alert System integrated new technology in 2016 to enhance the timely sharing of safety information. Buckeye Alerts, often sent via text message, are issued when it is determined that the campus community needs to take immediate action to remain safe.
