Clinical Resources

The Ohio State University is a large matrixed organization with many resources to help. However, some of these things can be hard to find. Below are some of the most common resources to help you with your clinical and/or research needs.

IHIS Resources Center – For general information, training materials, and tip sheets

IHIS (Integrated Healthcare Information System) is a single, integrated and personalized health record across the continuum of a patient’s interaction with the Medical Center. All members of the Medical Center team use IHIS to access and enter information in the patient clinical and financial record. You will be assigned to complete IHIS trainings according to your specific clinical role or department requirements.

IHIS Help and Support:

  • For IHIS support and questions, OSUWMC users should call (614) 293-HELP (4357), and select option 8. Community Connect users should call 855-918-8886.
  • For IHIS training questions, call the Training Center at (614) 366-4777.

College of Medicine Center for Bioethics

Housed within the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine, the Center for Bioethics stands as a forum for collaborative research, education, and clinical consultation involving multiple interprofessional disciplines and perspectives to give consideration to theoretical ethics, empirical ethics, professionalism, humanities, spirituality, religion, law, and public policy. The Center mobilizes the necessary conversation and executes initiatives to better accomplish the OSU Wexner Medical Center’s mission “to improve people’s lives through innovation in research, education, and patient care.”

American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC)

Tomorrow’s Doctors, Tomorrow’s Cures

The AAMC leads and serves the academic medicine community to improve the health of people everywhere. Founded in 1876 and based in Washington, D.C., the AAMC is a not-for-profit association dedicated to transforming health through medical education, health care, medical research, and community collaborations.

Clinical Research Resources

Designing, implementing and managing clinical research studies can be challenging. The College of Medicine (COM) Office of Research promotes the education, training and mentoring of research teams. Staff provide assistance to researchers and also help to identify resources within The Ohio State University in relation to clinical research administration and operations; clinical trial development, coordination and management; and compliance. Some COM resources include:

  • The Ohio State University Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS)
  • The Ohio State University Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM) Clinical Trials Management Organization (CTMO)
  • The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) Clinical Trials Office (CTO)
