About FAME

A slogan in black and red font that reads "your career, our guidance."

The Center for Faculty Advancement, Mentoring and Engagement (FAME) is dedicated to supporting faculty across all areas of academic medicine. We offer comprehensive programs and resources to foster excellence in teaching, leadership, mentorship, clinical care, and research.

Each year, our FAME team—together with faculty directors in Leadership, Teaching & Learning, Mentorship, Digital Education, and Research—designs targeted initiatives based on faculty needs. Through thoughtfully curated events and programs, and in collaboration with experts across the College of Medicine, we provide meaningful opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.

Our Topics

FAME programming is organized around the following professional development areas:

Cohort Programs

FAME’s cohort programs offer a deeper, more sustained professional development experience for faculty. Spanning 6 to 10 months, these programs bring together interdisciplinary groups of faculty for monthly in-person sessions that foster collaboration, reflection, and growth. Unlike single-session events, cohort programs provide a structured, in-depth approach to advancing academic careers while building lasting connections across health care disciplines. Self-Paced Learning

FAME’s asynchronous learning options offer a flexible, self-paced approach to faculty development. Designed to fit into busy academic schedules, these resources allow faculty to engage with a range of teaching topics anytime, anywhere. With two fully asynchronous courses and a collection of Faculty Development for Medical Educators (FD4ME) modules, faculty can tailor their learning to meet their individual needs and goals—on their own time and at their own speed.
