Our annual Engineering Healthcare in Research Symposium will take place on February 8th in Wasserstrom Auditorium at the Ohio State James Cancer Hospital. All Biomedical Engineering Students and Faculty are welcome to come hear about current industry focused research being conducted by our students, as well as network with companies. Join students and faculty members for our monthly Thirsty Third Thursday on October 18, 4-7pm, at Hoofhearted (850 N 4th St).
We will also be having our second annual BME graduate student halloween party at Old North Arcade (2591 N High St) on October 26, starting at 8pm. Food will be provided. Costumes are encouraged as well, Old North Arcade will be having a costume competition!
Come celebrate Halloween with your fellow BME grad students! There are 3 categories for the costume contest: scariest, funniest, and best. Winners receive Starbucks gift cards! Please feel free to bring your friends! There will also be snacks.
It will be at Hamptons on King Ave. starting @ 7PM and voting @ 8PM.

The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Association will host Dr. Lori Setton from Washington University in St. Louis to visit the Ohio State University Department of BME and present her current research. Dr. Setton focuses on mechanics and mechanobiology of the intervertebral disc, articular cartilage mechanics, drug delivery, and pathomechanisms of osteoarthritis. She has won several awards throughout her carrier including: AIMBE Fellow (2005), BMES Fellow (2009), Van C. Mow Medal (2007), Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring, Duke Graduate School(2004), Stansell Family Distinguished Research Award (2001), Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) (1997).
