Codes Used:
reverse(4);
celerate(4,0,x,1.5);
motorSpeed(4,x);
goToRelativePosition(50);
brake(4);
where x is 20, 25, or 30 depending on the trial.
Findings:
We found that running the motors at 25% capacity used the least amount of energy overall. 30% capacity used almost the same power, but was a little higher. 20% capacity used much more energy than both 25% and 30% capacity.
Running the motors at 30% allowed the AEV to get the furthest the fastest. Seeing as this uses essentially the same amount of energy as running the AEV at 25%, it is more efficient to run the motors at 30% capacity. If the AEV were to run at 30% and 25% going the same distance, the 30% capacity run would use significantly less energy.
