Meeting 6: 2/21/19
Location: lab (room 224)
Time: 11:10 am
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
We had our first committee meeting today. We also decided on two topics to start researching to advance the AEV. These topics are motor speed effect on efficiency over a certain distance and motor quantity. We made a mind map depicting how we are going to research our topics over the next few labs.
Meeting 7: 2/28/19
Location: lab (room 224)
Time: 11:10 am
Attendees: Megan, Devon, Michael
We made a guideline to follow for our testing. We started the motor capacity tests beginning with 20% motor capacity. We performed three trials and got data from each to make graphs out of. Later we will analyze these graphs along with the ones in the next six trials to determine which motor capacity is the most efficient.
Next week we will test the motor capacity at 25% and 30%. We will also move on to motor quantity if time allows.
Meeting 8: 3/4/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Time: 10:20 am
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
We continued the motor capacity tests during this meeting. We tested the motors at 25% capacity three times and the motors at 30% capacity three times. We got data from each of these trials to make graphs out of. After these trials we set up or AEV with 3 motors so we can start testing motor quantity on Wednesday. We decided not to test the motor capacity for 100 marks and just move on to motor quantity.
In the next lab we will start to test the motor quantity and analyze the data for that. For the 1 motor test we will use the middle motor and for the 2 motor test we will use the two outside motors. We will try to get a majority of this done during the next meeting.
Meeting 9: 3/6/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Time: 10:20 am
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
A schedule for the next few labs was put onto the website. We started making the graphs for the motor capacity data to put on the website. The AEV was modified to fit 3 motors on the back.
In the next lab we will continue testing motor quantity and making the graphs to analyze it.
Meeting 10: 3/7/19
Location: lab (room 224)
Time: 11:10 am
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
We completed the assembly of the AEV to accommodate three motors. We began testing one motor and retrieving the data from three tests. This information was used to make graphs for analysis. We then tested 2 motors at the same speed. Then we tested one motor again at twice the speed of the first trial. We also started coding the AEV for the first performance test. We began with getting the AEV up to the gate.
During the next meeting we will continue coding for the performance test. We will test out different types of braking to get it to stop at the gate where we want it. We will also modify the AEV so it is as efficient as possible before the test.
Meeting 11: 3/18/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Time: 10:20 am
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Micheal
We continued testing our coding for the first performance test. We did a practice performance test to prepare for tomorrow. We also started discussing the presentation that’s on Thursday.
In the next meeting we will complete the first performance test. We will also start working on the code for the second performance test.
