During our Advanced Research and Development (aR&D) stages, we mainly focused on the coding side of developing the AEV, while the other companies focused more on changing the physical design itself. This led to very few changes to the AEV design throughout the process, and any changes to the AEV design came at the very end of the aR&D phase.
Our preliminary prototype used for aR&D stages 1 and 2 features a short lightweight design.
Our design final design is the same as the design above but with an elongated base and and extra elongated nose in order to keep the magnet at least 2 inches away from the Arduino. Below is a picture of the entire design with the arm detached, and below that is a close up of the elongated nose with metal piece.
