Meeting 12: 3/25/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
Time: 10:20 am
Since there was an exam today we didn’t have much time so we discussed what we might want to research during aR&D 3. We came up with a few ideas: motor capacity with the caboose attached, power breaking (with servo) vs breaking using the propellers, and position of the battery (where the mass is located on the AEV).
During the next meeting we will finish testing and coding for performance test 2 as well as perform performance test 2. We will also begin working on the CDR.
Meeting 13: 3/27/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
Time: 10:20 am
In this meeting we finished coding and testing for performance test two and then completed performance test two. We didn’t have a battery at the beginning so this held us back a little bit at the beginning. We also continued working on our CDR. We all prepared for the committee meeting tomorrow.
During the next meeting we will begin coding and testing for the final performance test. We will also start redesigning the AEV if we see fit. Committee meeting 2 is also during the next meeting; We will be able to get feedback from other teams about what is and isn’t working for them.
Meeting 14: 3/28/19
Location: lab (room 224)
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
Time: 11:10 am
Committee meeting two was today. We decided what we are doing for aR&D 3. We are going to test the energy efficiency of different motor capacities over distance with the caboose attached. We wrote up a methodology for our testing and sent that into Carmen to get comments on it. This will be done with propeller breaking. We started testing for aR&D 3.
During the next lab we will continue testing for aR&D 3. Once we get data from some of the tests we will make the graphs and start to analyze them so it won’t take as long at the end.
Meeting 15: 4/1/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
Time: 10:20 am
We continued testing for aR&D 3 as well as coding for the final performance run. We set up new pages on the website to put our information we gather. We started with testing motor capacity at 35% and then increased it by 5% until it reached 55%. We performed multiple tests for each capacity to make sure data was consistent.
After this meeting we will begin working on the third progress report. During the next meeting we will continue testing for aR&D 3 and the final performance run. We will also start to take the cost of the AEV into consideration. We plan to use information from the other groups in the company to improve our breaking and make it more efficient, both with energy and time.
Meeting 16: 4/3/19
Location: lab (room 308)
Attendees: Megan, Ryan, Devon, Michael
Time: 10:20 am
Today we finished testing for aR&D 3 and started to analyze the graphs that were made using the data to find conclusions. We also continued working on the third progress report.
Tonight we will finish the third progress report and begin working on the power point slide for the final oral presentation as well as making a script to follow (this won’t be turned in). In the next meeting we will resume testing and coding for the final performance test using the data our company gets after aR&D 3.
