Samples from Biosphere 2 Ocean
The Biosphere 2 “Ocean” is a large indoor saltwater tank that was built around 1990. The TMPL is using the B2 Ocean as a tool for developing sampling methodologies in association with the Tara Oceans expedition, which is collecting samples from around the world. These seawater samples were collected on the Tara Oceans expedition. Station 23 is in the Adriatic Sea, west of Dubrovnik, and Station 30 is in the Mediterranean Sea, near the island of Cyprus. More on the Tara Oceans project.
Samples from Tara Station 23 & 30, isolated from Synechococcus cultures
These samples were isolated from Synechococcus cultures grown from seawater samples collected at Tara Oceans expedition stations 23 and 30. Station 23 is in the Adriatic Sea, west of Dubrovnik, and Station 30 is in the Mediterranean Sea, near the island of Cyprus. More on the Tara Oceans project.
