Melissa earns First-Place Young Investigator Award
Graduate student and veterinary pathology resident Melissa Leonard presented a poster at the 2023 Society of Toxicologic Pathology Annual Symposium in Las Vegas and received the first-place Young Investigator Award. Way to go!
The Oestreich Lab goes to AAI’s IMMUNOLOGY2023 Conference
Graduate students Melissa Leonard, Devin Jones, and Jasmine Tuazon presented posters at the AAI IMMUNOLOGY2023 conference. Melissa and Devin both presented symposium talks and received travel awards for their work. After the conference, Jasmine, along with OSU MI&I and PIIO PIs Drs. Emily Hemann and Mark Rubinstein, advocated to Ohio representative and senator staffers for increased, sustainable NIH funding.
Kaitlin graduates from OSU and accepts a postdoctoral position at UPenn
Kaitlin Read graduated with her Ph.D. from the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program and celebrated in her backyard with close friends and family. Since then, she and her family moved to Philadelphia to start as a postdoctoral researcherR at the University of Pennsylvania in the lab of Dr. Jim Riley studying CAR T cells.

The Oestreich lab attended the AAI Autumn Immunology Conference in Chicago, IL. Graduate students Devin Jones, Jasmine Tuazon, and Kaitlin Read and postdoctoral researcher Srijana Pokhrel presented posters and oral talks. Kaitlin Read also received an AAI Young Investigator Award, given to the first author of the top abstract in each Workshop category at AIC and selected on the basis of the scientific content.
