Today, the CDC estimates that 1 in 44 children in the United States has Autism Spectrum Disorder—making it quite common. This guarantees that all clinicians will treat patients with autism. So, clinicians caring for all ages can benefit from being familiar with Autism and the unique aspects of its care. To that end, we’ve invited two of Ohio State University’s experts in Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Christopher Hanks is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine who founded and directs the Center for Autism Services and Transition. And Dr. Ashley Byrd is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry who specializes in treating patients with not only Autism Spectrum Disorder but also Intellectual & Developmental disabilities.
