Stop by the Ohio Union Aug. 23 through Aug. 27 to enjoy a free cup of coffee from your friends at The Ohio State University Police Division. Officers will hand out coffee and chat with campus community members Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Our officers are committed to building relationships of trust – one cup of coffee at a time!

As Buckeye Wellness Innovators, you are invited to join the official Pelotonia team for the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer for this year’s Pelotonia ride. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Rider, a Virtual Rider or a Volunteer – what matters is that you want to end cancer and you’re getting involved to do something about it. Every dollar raised benefits Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital and Solve Research Institute.

Guiding students to wellness

Join the Student Wellness Center for a 2.5 hour workshop specifically for faculty, staff and graduate/professional students at Ohio State. Participants will learn the skills needed to effectively guide students to wellness through active listening, motivational interviewing, goal-setting and best-referral practices. Participants will learn and practice tangible skills to help students access wellness-related resources on Ohio State’s campus.

Hope walks here

Help prevent suicide and promote a campus culture of care at Ohio State by supporting this year’s spring virtual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. This event, a partnership between the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Ohio Chapter and Ohio State Suicide Prevention Program, will take place April 9-11. The walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, healing and support, and is an opportunity to unite as a campus and community. Ohio State alumni, staff, faculty, students and their friends and family (even pets) may participate. Register online.

Back by popular demand! The Office of the Chief Wellness Officer is pleased to announce registration is open for Part IV of the Stay Calm and Well Webinar Series. The latest edition will continue to build participant knowledge to overcome the lingering COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on our lives at home and at work, while enhancing skills to cope with social issues in our country. Encourage your colleagues to participate and earn 2,000 YP4H points by completing five out of six post-evaluation surveys.

Join us for “Tackling Challenges with Coach Day: Mental Health During a Pandemic,” a virtual keynote address with Coach Ryan Day, on Thursday February 25 at 4:30 p.m.

Hear from Coach Day as he discusses the importance of breaking the stigma of mental health, while sharing how mental health has affected him personally and recognizing the mental health challenges we all face during the pandemic. Coach Day will also be answering questions attendees submit ahead of time. You can submit your questions at go.osu.edu/CoachDayQuestions.
