Poetry: Good Rx

A poetry reading brought to you by the Hospital Poets

Welcome to the first Hospital Poets reading this year! Poets Beth Weinstock, M.D., Fred Andrle, and Charlene Fix will share a variety of great poems to lift your spirits, bring heart to mind in medical practice, and inspire quiet reflection. A recent NYTimes article includes a quote stating: “Poetry can serve as a vaccine for the soul.” We hope you can join us at this virtual event! To register, click the link below.

Calming Yoga to Help us Open Up

Calming Yoga to Help us Open Up

Wednesday, July 21
5 – 5:45 PM

We will gather on the green space in front of University Hospital

Join Medicine & the Arts and Gabbe Health and Wellness as we sponsor moving meditation through a gentle yoga practice with Dr. Maryanna Klatt, Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine. Please bring your own yoga mat – we will space 6 feet apart. Non vaccinated people are requested to be masked.

This practice will be appropriate for those new to, or experienced with yoga, who would like to experience a moving arts approach to relaxation during this time of opening up after the pandemic in a safe and calm manner. As a community we are creating our forward movement. Join us with your mat, in comfortable clothes, for 45 minutes of gentle movement and grounding. Rest into this re- opening- together! Click below to register. Space will be limited, so please commit to joining us if you register.

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Caitlin Donahue (caitlin.donahue@osumc.edu). Requests made by August 14 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
