For Spring 2019, veterans and a newcomer have paired up for another semester of exciting topics that they are eager to share with you! Nikos Stamos and Michael Pirovolos share their experiences of studying abroad in Athens, Greece during summer 2018 through the THYESPA Programme. Their second broadcast discusses the Greek Orthodox fraternity Sigma Epsilon Phi. Their final broadcasts were separate, with Nikos’ discussing his personal experience with type 1 diabetes, and Michael’s on the Hellenic dancers of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Canton, Ohio. Yianni Kellis and Emily Pandis explore the topics of bilingualism as demonstrated through English/Greek speakers and Greece as a maritime country, including discussion of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and its impact in Greece. Their final broadcast is on the different classes offered by the Modern Greek program.
All four students broadcast together for the final broadcast and year-end party of the Modern Greek Program on April 19 at 2pm in Crane Café of Hagerty Hall.
