Project Statement

Elevate Creative is a three-part video production, real estate, and creative agency company that’s based in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve had the opportunity of interning here this semester, with my first project being to re-brand the real estate side of their company. Within the first of many meetings, I was shown their pre-exisiting logo and a pinterest board so I could gain inspiration and a better understanding of their preferred style of design. What I took from this meeting was that they wanted a symbolic, creative logo that was minimalistic and could transfer between colorways easily. With this in mind, I produced a set of preliminary logos in Illustrator. After seeing these, we moved forward with the idea of an arch being included somewhere in the design. From there, I produced a wide variety of arch-inspired logo designs, many of which can be seen above. While we haven’t finalized anything yet, the one included within the application section is what we’re leaning most towards.

Reflection

Although my explanation of this project has been quick, the actual process of creating the logos has not been. I started this internship in the middle of January and since then, this is something I’ve been working on every single week. It’s been time-consuming, challenging, and experimental to say the least. However, I’ve enjoyed it and felt as though it’s given me the real-world opportunity to work on skills I learned during first semester like negative space use and shape association.
