Background

Smart City Columbus has taken the opportunity to improve the transportation system from Lindon to Easton and Polaris of Ohio. The development of an Advanced Energy Vehicle will not only create safe transportation between these cities but will also consume less energy in the long run.

Constraints

  1. $500,000 budget
  2. AEV must move forward and backward along a single track
  3. AEV must use Li-PO batteries as energy supply
  4. There must be a two-inch clearance between Arduino and caboose
  5. Arduino cannot be placed vertically

Goals

  • Create the initial design of the AEV to be based off a sleek and speedy design, such as a “bullet” AEV.
  • Start and complete research on the battery, propellers, and servo of the AEV in order to upgrade the way it runs and completes the performance tests.
  • Run the AEV in a series of Performance tests to confirm that it can complete the mission of the project.
  • Produce the final design of the AEV to be used for Smart City Columbus.
