Battery Testing

Battery Testing

The goal of battery testing was to see the relationship between power and distance in the battery. Two different battery powers were tested, 30% and 40%. Three trials were conducted at each percentage. The data was collected using the data collection tool and used qualitative analysis running the AEV on the track.

Current Findings:

30% Power

40% Power, the AEV moved approximately 75% further with only a 10% increase of motor power applied. Each percentage that the motor is increased impacts the distance significantly. In order to move the short distances for various tests for the AEV, the vehicle will not need to apply as much power, therefore, making it much more efficient. It does not need to use as much power to go the distance it needs to move. The AEV does not need much power in order to move an ample amount.

Marketability:

The AEV will be more efficient because we do not need to use as motor power in order to move a far distance. The smart city Columbus will be green because less energy will be used in transportation and can be used in other aspects of the city.
