They will inform participants about important considerations about entering the arts sector as an alternative career path to academia. The discussion is open to your questions concerning community projects and services, working with diverse populations, library services, networking and more. “Words aren’t enough. They must be followed by action.”

A message from Dean Cheryl Achterberg:

Dear Friends, Students and Colleagues:

Words aren’t enough. They must be followed by action. Yesterday, the College of Education and Human Ecology stood up against racism.

We invite everyone to join us in the critical work that lies ahead, whether you were able to participate in the EHE Picture Project or not. We all can support our colleagues by reminding each other every day of our intent: We need to reinforce our commitments out loud to diversity, justice and inclusion and acknowledge that we create our own culture.

We must be vigilant to protect our community from ignorance and hatred. It is up to us to make our college and the university a safer place for all to grow and thrive.

We must not only write the script, but live it every day.

Reminder: Our college will host “A Critical Dialogue on Justice, Diversity and Inclusion,” Monday, Dec. 5, from 2-3 p.m. More details to come.
