Gateway to Learning

ScarletCanvas

ScarletCanvas (Scarlet) is a web-based Learning Management System (LMS). Scarlet is used to manage single courses or programs for the public that are not part of a degree-earning program at The Ohio State University. Most courses offered are asynchronous/self-paced courses. Some courses can be applied toward Continuing Education credits or Certificates, and many of the courses are completely free.

Examples of College of Medicine courses that are be offered on Scarlet include: Advancing Your Clinical Teaching, Adult Teaching Premises and Practices, Dealing with Difficult Students, and Introduction to Medical Simulation. Many of the College of Medicine courses offer a promotional code to waive the course fee for OSU or NCH employees.

There are also topics available in Scarlet from other Colleges or Departments, such as the College of Education and Human Ecology, the College of Arts and Sciences, Mortiz College of Law, and more. Visit Scarlet today to search through all of the courses available.

Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance

The Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance Plan pays the instructional, general and non-Ohio resident fees (up to 10 hours per term) for eligible employees who take courses at Ohio State. The benefit is available upon employment in an eligible appointment of at least 75% FTE.
