4-H teens ages 15-18 and still in High School are eligible for this 4-day service-learning experience that will build skills and abilities to prepare youth for success in a diverse workplace as well as build cultural understanding of those who are different. This experience will not be about shopping or sightseeing, although we will visit some monuments and historic sites. The cost of the experience is $180. Limited scholarship funds are also available. All teen applicants will be contacted to complete an additional phone interview before selection.

This is a friendly reminder that Officer Training will be on Tuesday, March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ramser 4-H Activity Center. The OSU Collegiate 4-H groups will be coming to assist our members with learning their roles. Lindsey would like to have a head count on who we will be expecting that evening to make sure we plan accordingly. As a club, please fill out this survey: https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9GZ8mNo0NIIWKAm to help with calculating our expected attendance.
Lindsey is holding two Cloverbud Advisor Trainings for those that are interested. The first one will be this Thursday, March 2 from 5-6 p.m. and the second one will be Tuesday, March 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Ramser 4-H Activity Center in the long room downstairs.
The Knox County Beekeepers Association is looking to start a kids club. They will be holding their informational meeting on Tuesday, March, 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ramser 4-H Activity Center. This meeting will help you and your family see how the KCBA’s Kids Club Program can help your children learn how to become successful beekeepers for a lifetime while fulfilling the 4H project requirements as outlined in publication 4-H 641. Even if you think now is not the best time for your family to get into beekeeping you’ll want to come hear about the fascinating world of honey bees. We’ll be discussing what it takes to get into beekeeping and what the bees are really up against as they try to survive from one year to the next. We’ll also be talking about our KCBA Youth in Beekeeping Scholarship Program that helps new beekeepers with the initial costs of becoming a beekeeper. So please come join us for an evening of enlightenment. Bring the kids. Bring lots of questions!

We will be conducting our 4-H Open House/Project Fair/Cloverbud Event this Saturday, March 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ramser 4-H Activity Center. This is event is a trifecta. It is an open house to attract new members and families to learn more about the Knox County 4-H program. We will have all of the project books on display for members that are already a part of our program, to look through and try to find a new topic to explore on their journey this year. And if you know of new members that are going to be Cloverbuds or have current Cloverbuds, Lindsey will be doing a make and take activity on pin wheels with them that morning.
We are still looking for:
Please reach out if you would like more information or would like to commit to set up on Saturday.
