My journey through medicine, biostatistics, and informatics has been extensive and rewarding, leading me to my current position as a Professor and Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University.
Professional Biography
Embarking on my professional journey as a physician, my inquisitive nature led me toward the path of research, where I could delve into the intricacies of health disparities and devise strategies to bridge these gaps. Through my Equity Bone Lab, I’ve championed groundbreaking projects in osteoporosis research, leveraging the potential of big data, machine learning, and genomics to redefine healthcare equity. The cornerstone of my research lies in devising personalized precision medicine tools to improve osteoporosis diagnosis and fracture risk assessment, especially among minority women. The scope of my collaborative research extends beyond osteoporosis, having been involved in numerous multidisciplinary projects to solve pressing scientific challenges in various clinical fields.
