Instructor/Assistant Professor of Education (Literacy/Reading)
The School of Education is seeking to fill an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Education (Literacy/Reading), Tenure Track position, with an educator from a variety of education fields to teach courses in the Teacher Education Program. The position will start in September of 2024.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Dean, School of Education, and the Assistant Professor of Education (Literacy/Reading) will fulfill all of the responsibilities and expectations of Stockton faculty, as outlined in the University policies and procedures on faculty evaluation. Specifically, the Assistant Professor will serve in the following ways at Stockton:
- Offer courses in the Teacher Education Program, including teaching content and pedagogy courses with a focus on literacy courses and related areas, as well as in the General Studies curriculum – 24 credit hours (TCH) per academic year
- Serve as a preceptor (academic advising) to students
- Participate in scholarship and/or creative activities as appropriate to the discipline as per program standards
- Provide service to the University, school, program, and/or profession
- Perform other duties as designated by the Dean and/or the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
- Support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission
