The Department of Teacher Education at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Curriculum and Instruction Education. Positions are expected to begin in January 2024.

THE POSITION

The position is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track appointment. Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field. Must be well-versed in the foundations and methodologies of Curriculum and Instruction education and have a minimum of 3 years of public-school teaching experience at the K-12 level. The successful candidate must have a teaching, scholarship, and service record appropriate for the rank (described below). The successful candidate must have appreciation for a multidisciplinary environment and commitment to inclusive excellence.

Faculty will be expected to:

  • Serve as a core faculty member in the department of Teacher Education and the Curriculum and Instruction program.
  • Have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate EDUC courses using different instructional modes (F2F, hybrid, online) as needed.
  • Have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in other programs within the Department of Teacher Education (i.e., Bilingual/ESL Education, Special Education, and/or Educational Leadership) as appropriate.
  • Have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
  • Provide direct mentoring as a university field supervisor (as needed) for our certification candidates.
  • Work with department colleagues to plan curriculum, align courses to state and national standards, and ensure that we meet the needs of our students efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop a program of externally funded research.
  • Disseminate research findings in academic journals and academic conferences.
  • Demonstrate intellectual contributions linked to diversity, inclusion and/or inclusive excellence.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Support the department’s student recruitment initiatives.
  • Embrace a data-driven approach to instruction, program evaluation, and decision making.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Support the university’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.

The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership at Eastern Kentucky University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to teach online and in-person courses across our undergraduate and graduate programs beginning August 2024. Candidates must hold a PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or general education to be considered eligible for the position. ABD candidates may be considered with degree in hand prior to employment. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Competency Based Education (CBE). Candidate must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in an elementary, middle, or secondary public-school classroom. Higher education teaching experience is preferred.

Candidate will teach a variety of courses within their area of expertise and provide necessary supports to the department in the areas of CBE curriculum design, assessment, and course implementation. Candidates must be willing to provide service to the department, college, and university and be willing to advise students and oversee clinical experiences. Candidates must also collaborate with schools and communities within EKU’s service region and beyond. Priority will be given to applicants with an established or actively establishing scholarly research with an interest in disseminating their work and contributing to innovations across Eastern Kentucky University.

The Department of Educational Specialties (ESP) at the Northern Arizona University

seeks a new colleague for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer within the Educational Technology area beginning in August 2024. The position is a full-time, benefit-eligible, 9-month non-tenure track faculty line with the opportunity for paid summer teaching. The position is for a 4/4 teaching load with a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses and is eligible for annual renewal. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to equity and justice in education and excellence in teaching university students historically marginalized within education systems. This position is based in Flagstaff, AZ.

The Educational Technology programs are grounded in providing undergraduate and graduate students with expertise in the evaluation and use of technology tools to conduct and enhance learning environments. We offer an undergraduate course (ETC 447) that is part of the elementary education and special education programs. This semester-long course is offered face-to-face on the Flagstaff Mountain campus. We also offer a master’s program in Educational Technology, with core courses in curriculum, educational research, and education technology. Students select one of two emphases: K-12 Teacher, which is suited for schoolteachers who want to advance their technology and leadership skills to be technology administrators, technology coaches, or technology leaders in their school and district. The second emphasis, Adult Learning and Training, prepares graduate students to use technology in an efficient and effective way to instruct adult students. The Master of Education in Educational Technology is delivered via online asynchronous.

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate ETC courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.

  • Collaborate with ETC colleagues to design course/program curricula through a lens of equity and justice.
  • Contribute to service on department, college, and university committees.
  • Advise graduate students in the Educational Technology master’s program.

This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation.  Opportunities for remote work are rare.

The Department of Educational Psychology in the UIC College of Education seeks a tenured scholar at the associate or full professor rank in early childhood education, starting in August 2024. We seek a faculty colleague whose dynamic, interdisciplinary, and innovative scholarship centers on one or more of the following areas: (a) early childhood education; (b) human development and learning; (c) early childhood teacher education; (d) early childhood education among Latine learners, families and/or communities; and (e) early childhood education in urban institutional and/or urban-community settings. We expect candidates to have a demonstrated record of or the potential for seeking extramural research funding.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties include conducting research in early childhood education in urban contexts,
  • facilitating excellent teaching to diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations,
  • supervising doctoral dissertations, and
  • providing service and leadership across multiple organizational levels, including department, college, university, local and state communities, and international and national professional academic associations.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach 4 courses per year and contribute to the growing Early Childhood Education Master’s Program, BA in Human Development and Learning, Early Childhood Alternative Licensure Program and the PhD in Educational Psychology. The Department of Early Childhood Education at Kean University seeks a research-oriented candidate, with a commitment to student success and an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices to prepare highly effective early childhood teachers to teach in preschool-3rd grade. The ideal candidate has a strong expertise in early childhood literacy and mathematics and overall, is expected to achieve excellence in teaching, research and service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching a range of content, methods, theory and application courses related to early childhood education; advising undergraduate students; serving on various committees at the department, College and University levels; assisting in the development and writing of assessments for submission to internal program reviews and external program reviews for reaccreditation; and actively engaging in research and publication of research findings in any aspect of early childhood education.

We are excited to grow our faculty and invite applications for academic year 2024-2025. Faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective for the fall 2024 semester. Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean’s New Jersey locations – Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or for Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity.  Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental, college, university and community level is required.  Proficiency in a Learning Management System is also required, consistent with University guidelines.
