Assistant Professor of K-12 Education Leadership (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy, within the College of Human Development, Culture and Media (CHDCM) at Seton Hall University, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor, PreK-12. The position will begin August 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have the potential for and/or a demonstrated record of quality and rigorous research within the spectrum of PreK-12 education, defined as pre-kindergarten through high school. Acknowledging the interdisciplinary possibilities within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media and with key stakeholders, the candidate will have the ability to collaborate within the department, across the college, and with connected communities on research for equity and justice.

The Department seeks applicants with a central commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Ideal candidates, using established and/or emerging theoretical and methodological frameworks, will connect DEI expertise to PreK-12 areas including, but not limited to, law; policy; finance; leadership; technology; governance; organizational theory; research, assessment, and evaluation; or, international and comparative education. The candidate ought to have a terminal degree in education or a related field. The Department invites candidates with expertise in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research. Expertise in and experience with critical methods is encouraged. A key role of this position will be mentoring doctoral students in the department.

This successful applicant will be expected to conduct research, teach courses as assigned, engage in department, college, and university service, and advise students. The department chairperson may assign additional duties when necessary.
