Clinical Assistant Professor of Reading and Literacy Education

The Department of Instruction & Leadership in Education in Duquesne University’s School of Education is seeking to fill a Clinical Assistant Professor of Reading and Literacy Education with a focus in Adolescent Literacy. The non-tenure-track, nine-month appointment will begin on August 12, 2024. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Reading and Literacy Education with a focus in Adolescent Literacy will teach courses across the middle-level and secondary Leading Teaching Program as well as in the Reading and Literacy Education graduate program; courses may include Teaching Secondary English, Content Area Reading, Adolescent Literature, Introduction to Literacy Theories, etc..   The successful candidate will be expected to participate in service to the department, school, university, and profession; work collaboratively with an interdepartmental working group on teacher education course and curriculum development; and bring expertise and experiences that complement those of the existing team of faculty in the department.
