The candidate will serve as the coordinator within the Graduate programs for the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development in the College of Education, collaborating the components of graduate education with a strong emphasis on the Master of Arts in Teaching. In addition, the candidate will join forces with the undergraduate programs to support the teaching and learning process and strengthen student success. The candidate will act as the primary liaison among the graduate faculty, and students with outreach to the Graduate School. The candidate should be aware of developments in the programs that affect the graduate and undergraduate faculty; should be available, present, and responsive to students. Work to support programs for teachers and licensure to meet the teaching shortage demands of the State and Nationally. Support in the quality, academic integrity, and structure of all programs in TLPD. Make the Chair and Dean aware of the needs of the school communities. Recruits and works with faculty, Bowie State University personnel, school districts and educational stakeholders as programs are developed, interpreted, and enforces. Employs strategies to recruit a diverse cohort of talented students. Oversees programs to ensure student success. Responsible for managing and directing internal and external communications along with supervising public relations efforts, marketing/advertising, and communication strategies for program. Writing certificate and academic programs will also be a responsibility in order to promote the academic strength of the College and support the educational and professional success of its graduate students. Support in the accreditation process and duties as assigned. This is a tenure track position.

The College of Education & Human Services at the University of North Florida (UNF) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor position, with an emphasis on Foundations and Sociology of Education, commencing in Fall 2023. This position will support our Curriculum & Instruction programs, at both the doctoral (Ed.D.), masters’ (MED and MAT), and undergraduate levels. An earned doctorate in Educational Studies or a discipline closely related to Sociology of Education, is required at the time of employment. This faculty member will be expected to teach graduate level courses at the masters and doctoral level. Additionally, the faculty member will serve on doctoral (including chairing) doctoral dissertation committees. The doctoral program (Ed. D.) at UNF was recently accepted into the Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate (CPED). CPED and the UNF Ed. D. program are committed to preparing scholarly practitioners who can construct and apply knowledge to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals, families, organizations, and diverse communities. Moreover, the ideal candidate will be committed to investigating questions of equity, ethics, and social justice to bring about solutions to complex problems of practice.

The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education and Human Development at Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Reading and Literacy, with primary responsibilities of teaching and research in the Graduate Reading Program, Early Childhood, and Elementary Education Program, and the English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement Program.

Responsibilities:

1. Teach courses in the Teacher Education Department, including courses in the graduate reading program, and undergraduate literacy and science methods courses in the PK4 program, and conduct the student teaching seminars for PK12.

2. Develop and maintain an ongoing program of rigorous scholarly research based on an equity-focused and expansive definition of the science of reading/literacy.

3. Design, teach, and coordinate core courses at the graduate levels in the graduate reading program and provide support to the teacher licensure program and its assessment and accreditation.

4. Teach literacy/reading and science literacy/methods courses in the PK4 certification program.

5. Coordinate the Graduate Reading and ESL programs and the related graduate Literacy Practicum and ESL Internship.

6. Serve on University, college, and department committees which may include advising students in the Graduate Reading and ESL programs and working with the graduate office on recruitment and retention
