Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Education Program

Assistant Professor in Elementary Education

The School of Education at Saint Louis University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in our Education Program. Specifically, we are seeking a new colleague with expertise in online programming and instruction in Elementary Education. The successful candidate will have experience building and implementing online programs and have an interest in educating paraprofessionals to be future educators to work in schools. The new faculty member will have an appointment in the School of Education, starting in mid-August 2023, or sooner if possible. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Position Summary: Faculty in the School of Education at Saint Louis University are seeking a colleague to join a core of faculty members focused on the BA in Education Program. Our faculty work with pre-service teachers in various subject areas who will ultimately educate students from early childhood to the secondary level. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to build and implement a new online program specifically designed for paraprofessionals to complete coursework to earn a BA in Education and elementary certification.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have an opportunity to:

  • Research, build, and implement an online BA in Education Program for paraprofessionals
  • Supervise practicum experiences
  • Partner with schools and communities
  • Work with colleagues to support the undergraduate Education Program
  • Teach classes to undergraduate students in the Education Program
  • Engage in professional, university, and departmental service
  • Actively recruit and supervise undergraduate students and support strategic initiatives in the School of Education and the St. Louis community
