Educational Consultant
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Department of Medical Education is currently undergoing a curricular reform of its medical education program in partnership with the Center for Anti-Racism in Practice (CAP) . CAP is searching for an innovative educational consultant to co-develop with the Department of Medical Education’s Office of Curricular Affairs an integrative anti-oppressive framework to be used in the redesign of the curriculum that is expected to be launched in the fall 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Represent CAP through participation in relevant Curricular Reform planning committees and workgroups.
- Oversee the scope of work of the CAP Student Fellow assigned to related curricular reform projects and activities.
- Analyzing current and proposed curricula, student feedback, and teacher performance evaluations to determine gaps and needs.
- Co-develop an anti-oppressive framework to be used by curricular redesign educators and administrators.
- Scaffold existing and new curricular content and student assessments related to the anti-oppression medical education program objectives and curricular threads.
- Gathering information from educators, support staff, students, and other relevant stakeholders as needed to inform capacity-building needs and faculty development. Providing workshops and instructional materials to improve lesson delivery and admin processes.
- Developing new and more effective curricula, learning outcomes, and teaching methods.
- Co-lead and co-develop content as needed for CAP faculty (course and clerkship directors) development opportunities.
