The Occupational Therapy Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full timeĀ Assistant or Associate ProfessorĀ of Occupational Therapy and Curriculum and Assessment Director.

St. Kate’s occupational therapy (OT) department has a 75+ year history of excellence in occupational therapy (OT) education and leadership in the profession. Our graduate programs offer an occupation-based curriculum that is interwoven with the University’s liberal arts education, and provides students with a foundation in four major populations and practice areas: pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health, and rehabilitation. We strive to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to live out the principles of social justice to support the occupational participation of clients in all aspects of their lives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, teaches, evaluates and revises course content to reflect evidence-based practice and most current knowledge in the field.
  • Develops and demonstrates learner-centered strategies.
  • Establishes positive relationships with students to promote their success.
  • Attends events to orient, support, celebrate, and/or reward student activities.
  • Developing and carrying out scholarly activities in collaboration with faculty, students, and the community in an area of interest in alignment with departmental scholarship agenda.
  • Produces scholarship that is shared with external audiences through peer-reviewed publication and/or presentation beyond the University and local levels.
  • Actively participates on departmental and program committees.
  • Some activities may include recruitment, orientation, and advising activities according to the Graduate OT Programs and University requirements.
  • Develops and implements professional goals that contribute to the achievement of the goals and strategic plan of the department and University.
  • Participation on University-wide or Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences elected or ad hoc committees and task forces.
  • Oversee course planning including at the conceptual level within the curriculum design and at the operational level for course scheduling and registration.
  • Coordinate all Problem Based Learning aspects of the curriculum.
  • Serve as the Department Assessment Lead (DAL).
  • Provide departmental leadership and faculty development related to curriculum revision, team teaching and integrated curriculum, teaching and learning pedagogy, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Liaison between fieldwork, capstone, and didactic aspects of the program to ensure an integrated curriculum and any revisions ensure alignment across the full curriculum.
