Assistant or Associate Professor of Education

Houghton University invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment in Education at the assistant or associate rank, starting in the fall of 2023. Specific teaching assignments will depend on how the candidate’s expertise, interests, and experiences intersect with program needs. We are especially interested in applicants whose content expertise and experience include literacy or special education.

The successful candidate would teach undergraduate courses in education, including foundational courses (e.g. Educational Psychology, and/or Education and American Culture) and upper-level methods courses (e.g. math methods, science methods, and/or social studies methods) in a face-to-face format that is clearly linked with field experience opportunities. At the discretion of the Area Dean or Provost, the successful candidate might also be asked to teach one or more online graduate courses. Responsibilities will include teaching 3-4 courses per semester, advising, mentoring of student teachers, departmental collaboration, service, scholarship, enhancing online offerings, and building educational partnerships.
