Job Summary

The Grant and County Adult Education Instructor position will teach GED preparation that includes Reading/Language Arts with a primary emphasis on Mathematics including subjects through the High School Algebra level. Duties will also include student testing, assessment, and advising, and will teach in both Kenton and Grant counties and will include instruction in the local jails.

Job Duties:

  • Teach students in a GED prep track in both Kenton and Grant counties.
  • Subjects will include Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics through the High School Algebra level.
  • Classes at both local jails and in the community when needed.
  • Develop lesson plans and implement instruction (could be in person and online) at various locations.
  • Data collection including testing, academic progress and attendance
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • The schedule will include at least 2 evenings per week.
  • The candidate hired must be able to pass the Test of Adult Basic Education at NRS Level 6 (12.9+) in both Reading and Mathematics.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week will be in Kenton County and the remaining 12.5 hours will be in Grant County.
