The Department of Educational Theory and Practice in the Mary Frances Early College of Education at the University of Georgia invites applications for two full-time (9-month) tenure-track positions in early childhood/elementary education (PreK-5th grade) at the Assistant or Associate level to begin in August 2023. We invite applicants who can make significant contributions to the department by expanding theoretical and methodological expertise and orientations and by initiating new ways of conducting teacher education and education research.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain a line of research that contributes broadly to the fields of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses for students majoring in early childhood and elementary education and, as aligns with research and teaching experience and expertise, for the department.
  • Pursue external funding for research and training.
  • Participate in on-going teacher education and graduate program development.
  • Provide service to the Elementary Education program, the department, the college, and the profession.
  • Work across departmental and institutional boundaries and participate in sustained engagement with local public schools and communities.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research and advise doctoral students.
  • Conduct field supervision of students in PreK-5th grade.
