Position Summary

Teaching, scholarship, and service in reading/literacy related to one or more of the following areas: assessment, cultural and linguistic diversity, disciplinary literacy, multimodal literacy, or reading foundations with emphasis on equity.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach graduate and undergraduate reading courses (face-to-face, blended, online; 3/3 teaching load) in one or more of the following programs:
    • Graduate (K-12) Reading Program
    • Undergraduate Inclusive PreK-5 Education Program
    • Middle Childhood Education Program (grades 4-9).
  2. Establish/maintain a productive research line leading to peer-reviewed presentations and publications and engage in grant writing activities as appropriate.
  3. Participate in student advising and collaborate in program development.
  4. Contribute to the school, college, university, and the profession through select service activities.

The IDeATe course 99-362 IDeATe: Intelligent Learning Spaces is seeking an adjunct instructor for the spring 2023 term.

Intelligent Learning Spaces explores the interactions between human learning and the spaces in which learning occurs. In this project-based course, students discuss, analyze, define, and apply theory from education, architecture and the arts to their project work. Students investigate precedents and existing experiences to create their own learning manifestos and designs. Imagination, in-class participation, speculation, empathy and 360-degree awareness are key components of this class. Students work on scaffolded projects that build on their knowledge to showcase their intentions and creativity, reacting to a variety of contexts relevant to learning. Students have opportunities to develop creative inquiry skills and apply critical perspectives through project-based work that requires experimentations, hands-on learning, reflection, and documentation.

Our team of professionals has been successfully serving children and families throughout west central/northwest Ohio for over thirty (30) years. If you are looking to join a supportive team environment, the MRESC Vision and Mobility Specialist team would like to receive your application. The TVI/OM team travels to the students and is assigned schools/communities to provide direct and/or consultative special education services relating to visual impairments. Frequent travel throughout west central and northwest Ohio is required for this position. TVI and OM specialists have the option to designate their home as their primary office.

Multiple Immuno-Oncology Postdoctoral Scholar Positions 

Zihai Li, M.D., Ph.D. – founding director of the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) – is recruiting multiple postdoctoral scholars to join his research team at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC). Dr. Li’s research interests over the last 20-plus years have been primarily in the fields of chaperone biology, immune tolerance, and cancer immunology. The Li lab currently focuses on improving existing immunotherapeutics and developing novel treatment strategies by understanding how the immune system influences cancer progression and the tumor microenvironment (https://go.osu.edu/zihai).

Supported by multiple grants from the NIH and private foundations, active projects include: elucidating the immune-mediated mechanisms behind sex biases in cancer; developing TGFβ-targeted therapies for cancer using anti-GARP monoclonal antibodies, CAR-T, and CAR-NK cells; studying the roles of mitochondrial metabolism in mediating response to radiation and immunotherapy to overcome resistance to PD-1 immune checkpoint blockers; uncovering immunoregulatory roles of platelets and other understudied myeloid cells in immune evasion; and understanding the fundamental mechanisms of differentiation program of regulatory T cells and CD8+ T cells in cancer, among others. Candidates are encouraged to pursue independent interests within the general framework of immuno-oncology, under the mentorship of Dr. Li.
