Assistant Professor of Reading

Using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods, this position entails teaching 24 credit hours per academic year at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating the Reading Endorsement Program and M.Ed. in Literacy; teaching undergraduate reading courses and online/hybrid graduate reading courses; actively recruiting for the reading programs; attending monthly School of Education meetings; conducting, implementing and publishing research related to reading and literacy; presenting at local, state and national conferences; participating in state or national committees specific to reading and literacy; organizing, implementing and assessing effective online courses; assisting in maintaining accreditation compliance by collecting data on the performance of the reading endorsement completers for ODHE and CAEP; collaborating with the director of professional development and graduate outreach to recruit district cohorts.
