The Department of ESE/MGSE in the College of Education invites applications and nominations for the tenure track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction/Teacher Education. The home campus for this position will be our Armstrong campus in Savannah, GA. Some travel to our Statesboro or Liberty campuses may be required.

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Elementary and Special Education or Middle Grades and Secondary Education, as appropriate, , the Assistant/Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction/Teacher Education position primarily focuses upon teaching advanced pedagogical courses to preservice and in-service teachers in our teacher education programs, including BSED, M.Ed., MAT, and Ed.S. and supervising teacher candidates in traditional as well as fully online practicum and internship settings. The teaching requires the modeling of effective instructional practices for diverse student populations and the use of instructional technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking a cohort of four dynamic, critical scholars as Tenure Track faculty for Fall 2022 to join Penn State University’s College of Education in its efforts to “combat and actively dismantle persistent, both cloaked and visible, systemic racism.” The Mathematics and Science Education faculty are eager to add a collaborative colleague who can provide expertise in working toward the ambitious goals of the College’s recent Strategic Plan along all the domains of our shared scholarly work. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research that complements and expands the faculty portfolio, which currently includes expertise in mathematical thinking, mathematics teaching and learning with technology, and mathematics and science teacher education. Relevant expertise in mathematics or science education that would complement our needs include but are not limited to: identity relative to mathematics learning and teaching, ELL mathematics and science learning and teaching, and mathematics or mathematics education for social justice.
