Experiential Learning Coordinator

The Experiential Learning Coordinator joins a team of professionals delivering Columbus Council on World Affairs’ most robust program, the Global Scholars Diploma (GSD) program. The Experiential Learning Coordinator is the CCWA Education Team lead for Year 3 of the GSD program. This entails advising Year 3 students on their Take Action capstone projects, developing and administering Year 3 curriculum and design, as well as coordinating with Year 3 contracted advisors. Success in this role requires consistently delivering prompt, organized, dependable programming with thoughtful prioritization, impeccable attention to detail, and unparalleled professionalism. The Experiential Learning Coordinator should enjoy working as part of a team, demonstrate positivity and enthusiasm, as well as enjoy working with students.

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Part-time faculty must have experience and training to provide course instruction in Reading, Literacy, and/or Developmental Education. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year. 4) Participate in Reading assessment. We seek a faculty member who will perform responsibilities including teaching, administration and service, and research and scholarship. The appointment of the Mary Fried Clinical Faculty position assumes major responsibilities with Ohio State University’s Reading Recovery (RR) program including collaboration with Reading Recovery teacher leaders and university trainers to implement Reading Recovery in Ohio and other affiliated states. The faculty member will provide leadership to the Reading Recovery and Literacy Collaborative; lead ongoing professional development of trained teachers and provide service in the North American Trainers Group (NATG) and the International Reading Recovery Organization (IRRTO). The faculty member in this position is expected to seek external funding to support their scholarship; teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses; mentor and advise master’s students; and participate in Department, College, and professional service activities. Strong candidates will have teaching experience in elementary school settings in urban and/or rural areas. This position will begin on August 15, 2021.
