Tenure-track Assistant Professor of STEM Education

Marietta College’s highly ranked teacher education program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in STEM education. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with effective teaching methods in mathematics and science, ideally with an emphasis on integrating math and literacy into core content subjects at the elementary and secondary levels. Knowledge and experience with data-driven instruction, working with diverse learners, co-teaching, and teacher education accreditation standards is desirable.

Teaching responsibilities for the position may include but are not limited to the following: integrated science content for elementary teachers; principles of mathematics for elementary teachers; math and science methods across all grade levels; general teaching methods for secondary schools; assessment; and technology in the classroom.

Duties include advising undergraduate education students, supervising clinical interns and field experience students, cultivating and strengthening partnerships with K-12 schools, and participating in accreditation efforts.

Additional responsibilities may include planning and conducting a one-week summer science camp for middle grade students (with a stipend), participating in seeking grant funding for initiatives, and a willingness to assist with summer professional development programs for local teachers.
