Sweet Briar College invites applications for a full-time, one-year position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education with the possibility of appointment to tenure track or with tenure for an exceptional candidate. The successful candidate will be an engaged scholar-teacher with expertise inthe areas of curriculum, assessment and differentiated instruction and action research. Preference will go to candidates who are able to model backward design and differentiated curriculum and instruction. The faculty member will also responsible for supervising clinical and student teaching experiences and advising undergraduate and graduate students in our Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.). Previous experience with national accreditation of education programs is preferred. Teaching load is 3 course equivalents per semester.

At Sweet Briar College, elementary education and teaching majors may earn a B.A. and licensure in four years or earn a M.A.T. with licensure in a five-year program. Students also can earn teacher licensure in secondary education in biology, chemistry, English, history and social science, or mathematics and PreK-12 education in dance arts, theatre arts, or visual arts through the M.A.T. Program.

SUMMER CAMP LEADERSHIP ROLE – Outside Summer Job in Sports with Kids

·  This is a role as a LEADERSHIP camp counselor working on a 90-acre facility with 400 campers who attend the camp for all 7 weeks and 200 plus staff members from all over the world.  This is a great role for anyone interested in a fun summer job, working outside and mentoring kids.  In this role, you will be part of the Leadership of one camp age group, managing camper day to day activities as well as interacting with staff

·  Leadership Staff will work closely with Camp Directors on camper care and well-being.  In addition your work will include mentoring campers throughout the day taking part in all 40 plus activities from the Lake to Tennis as well special events within our own camp.

·  All Counselors at Winadu are General Sports Counselors and will be assigned to an age group of boys with whom they will work and in any given day can be coaching NFL Day, March Madness Day, spending time at the pool or lake or participating in a camp fire. Female staff will have their own housing. 

·  The ideal candidate will be high energy, fun and excited to work with kids plus have a solid work ethic and ability to pay attention to small details.
