Research Assistant/Research Specialist
Research Assistant:
AFB is seeking a Research Assistant to work in its Public Policy and Research Institute. This is a part-time (20 hours per week), six-month grant-funded position with the ability to telecommute. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized knowledge and expertise in the cleaning, analyzing, and reporting of data for two large studies. This position reports to the Director of Research.
Assist in cleaning two large data sets including eliminating incomplete entries, recoding variables, categorizing open-ended responses, etc, analyze the data including descriptive statistics for quantitative data and qualitative analysis for open-ended questions, assist in the development of visual representation of the data, e.g., bar graphs, line graphs, maps work with the research team to develop the report, incorporate feedback from the research team, copyeditor, graphic designer, and coder to ensure that the reported data is accessible and accurately presented, assist the Director of Research with other data related tasks as requested.
Research Specialist:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized knowledge and expertise in the development and analysis of AFB’s research and program evaluation to further AFB’s public policy and research agendas and to support AFB’s mission, strategic plan and annual initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Research. This is a full-time telecommuting position with opportunity to work full- or part-time out of AFB’s Arlington, Virginia office if desired.
