Assistant Professor, Reading Literacy Education
The successful candidate will fulfill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Literacy: Reading Education beginning August 2020 with strong credentials in reading/literacy instruction. Specific consideration will be given to candidates with skills in the foundations of reading, writing, and critical literacies and with proven commitments to preparing teachers of multilingual learners and learners with a wide range of racialized and socioeconomic backgrounds. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in reading. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate and graduate students, results in publications and contributes to advancing the department, university, profession, and society. Scholarship should include a focus on literacy and/or literacy instructions, including critical literacies, biliteracy and multiliteracies, and/or disability studies-informed approaches to reading and literacy.
