The Plant Sciences Symposium is an annual convention hosted at The Ohio State University (OSU) centered around topics in plant science. It is a part of the Corteva Plant Sciences Symposia Series. There is a shorter workshop day. In the past, the workshop day has included shorter speeches from people in plant-related fields or trips to nearby labs,  and the main day is Friday where 5 keynote speakers and some students will present their research in speeches or on posters. Breakfast, lunch, and coffee are provided for free to all registrants. There is a plant raffle where individuals can buy tickets to support the running of the symposium and have the possibility of winning a plant.

Our goals for this symposium include:

  • Enhancing discussions among individuals in academia and in private industry
  • Provide an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to share their research
  • Disseminate high quality plant science research to the community
  • Expose companies to qualified employment candidates
  • Enhance collaborations between plant scientists at Ohio State and those at other universities

The 2025 OSU Plant Sciences Symposium features:

  1. Invited Speakers
  2. Corteva Research Speaker
  3. Graduate Student Speakers
  4. Poster Competition
  5. Workshops
