The Plant Sciences Symposium is an annual convention hosted at The Ohio State University (OSU) centered around topics in plant science. It is a part of the Corteva Plant Sciences Symposia Series. There is a shorter workshop day. In the past, the workshop day has included shorter speeches from people in plant-related fields or trips to nearby labs, and the main day is Friday where 5 keynote speakers and some students will present their research in speeches or on posters. Breakfast, lunch, and coffee are provided for free to all registrants. There is a plant raffle where individuals can buy tickets to support the running of the symposium and have the possibility of winning a plant.
Our goals for this symposium include:
- Enhancing discussions among individuals in academia and in private industry
- Provide an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to share their research
- Disseminate high quality plant science research to the community
- Expose companies to qualified employment candidates
- Enhance collaborations between plant scientists at Ohio State and those at other universities
