For admitted post-master’s PhD students only. Post-baccalaureate students are not required to review this information.
Post-master’s PhD students who completed their master’s degree at an institution other than Ohio State must complete a request to transfer a block of 30 credit hours into Ohio State prior to their first semester of enrollment. This transfer is required in order to meet the Graduate’s School’s minimum credit hour requirements in order to be eligible for a doctorate degree from Ohio State. Students will initiate this transfer through Grad Forms.

Post-master’s PhD students who completed their master’s degree at Ohio State but in a non-nursing program must complete a request to transfer a block of 30 credit hours into the PhD program. This should be completed during their first semester of enrollment via the Committee and Exam Petition in Grad Forms. This is required by the Graduate School to be eligible for a doctoral degree from Ohio State. Information on this form can be found here.
