Summary
Create a story in a certain genre, study an arts movement that would pair well with your story, and create a storyboard of your story in the chosen style. Must have between six and twelve frames, the ratio of those frames being 16:9, and the entire collection of frames on a tabloid sized document. Digital or analogue.
Reflection
Creating a story, researching a style, and creating visuals. Horror and Romanesque art.
Final Horror Story
Creating a story proved relatively easy, my creative side quickly taking over and leading the way. Similar to the Face Off project, I had a lot of fun writing what I could. In the end, I decided on a twisted horror story and to reflect this I studied and used Romanesque era art to compliment it. The jagged edges, warped anatomy, and skewed perspective create an air of confusion and discomfort that reflect the horror themes perfectly. I used faded reds and yellows to mimic the faded remnants of that style of art we have today and juxtaposed it against stark black and red pen work, giving it a modern touch. The entire project was done analogue rather than digital to keep the grungy, rough look and further mimic the Romanesue style.
